Assignment 1:Idea generation
As Games become more and more advanced and utilize new technologies in order to create new entertainment experiences for video game players. Games main focus is used for entertainment purposes but can be utilized in many other areas, for example: educational purposes. Further more games can be used as promotional, ecommerce and advertisement tools as well.
For this assignment you need to come up with 3 ideas for Next Generation content. Those ideas need to take under consideration topics such as; technology, educational and entertainment content as well as who will be the targeted audience, end user.
For this research please take under consideration your own culture, heritage, legends, folktales, local architecture and historical places. You can also use your game to promote; agricultural products, events, festivals, language, tourism etc…
When you are researching your ideas, think about overall game design, characters, game play and as I mention before, new technology such as virtual reality (Elite: Dangerous) and augmented reality (Pokemon GO).
Also think about devices that this game will be played on; pc, gaming consoles, VR, augmented reality, mobile, etc….
Each team will document whole process via Blog and post required deliverables for each week.
The purpose of this project is to utilize the many game design concepts and methods that we have been studying and concentrate on aesthetics, story, mechanics and technology. The focus of this project is on design – and you will only be required to present an initial “working demo” of you game.
Have fun, enjoy yourself and think outside of boundaries!
Deliverable:
3 ideas; write paragraph for each idea; Korean and English language –Check grammar with English teacher or tutor.
Each paragraph for each of your ideas should include:
1. Game name
2. Summary: Game story/game play
3. What is the purpose of the game;who is target audience/end user
4. Include New existing or emerging Technology and devices
